We are interested in designing and synthesizing sensors of the donor-π –acceptor type. These sensors are designed so as to easily detect the presence of fluoride ions by a strong color change or by fluorescence quenching. The architecture of our molecules is based on the well known required design for molecules with potential non linear optical properties. An example of such compounds is represented in figure 1.
